posted by Sheila McPeek, a parent/guardian, 2008-09-19 My grandson received some very valuable training as far as his schooling was concerned. He graduated a full semester before his classmates did with a 3.8 or 3.9 GPA and thanks to your algebra teacher (I am sorry to say I never met this person or if I did I forgot but this would have been during the year 2007) Chad is doing fantastic work in algebra at OCTC working towards his associate degree. Once he gets that he intends to go to Western and finish with a BA in education and then on to become a counselor to help kids like himself. I want to personally thank Mr. Lewis (for so timely sending out Chad's transcript for college purposes), Mr. Applegate for his very great help with substance problems, whoever was his algebra teacher, Mr. Magnun, Mrs. Buckley for always returning my call, and all the others who helped in any way to make his stay there a better experience that it could otherwise have been. I know that it is so hard for these kids to accept that they must live by a rigid set of rules - so very different from what they lived with most of them like mine in a grandparent environment where they are very spoiled, but other than some anger issues that he is beginning to deal with, my child is beginning to become a very productive member of society. Thanks again to all involved.
